Feeding India by Eternal Foundation, releases its Annual Report for the fiscal year 2025-26. The report highlights over 6.5 crore meals served to children during the year, in line with the initiative’s mission to eradicate malnutrition in India. Feeding India, as of March 2026, serves over 1.7 lakh children every day and is present in 2,000+ schools and anganwadis across 157 districts.
The report, titled “A Year of Nourishing Together”, covers Feeding India’s efforts in FY26 to keep hunger out of classrooms and to support early childhood development by revitalising anganwadis.
Key Highlights:
● Daily Feeding Program: Under the organisation’s flagship program, Feeding India serves hot, nutritious meals to over 1.4 lakh children across 1,150+ partner institutions in 154 districts. These include 756 community learning centres, 289 formal schools, 62 special needs schools, 35 orphanages, 13 sports academies and 2 art and music academies. Collectively, over 5.8 crore meals were served in FY26.
● The Anganwadi Program: Feeding India works alongside existing community networks to strengthen nutrition at anganwadis, renew the spaces where young children learn, and understand how this support is changing their lives. The program reaches 39,000+ children across 900+ anganwadis in three districts and has served over 72 lakh hot, cooked meals in FY26. Each meal is planned for variety, drawing on grains, lentils, vegetables, fruits and local produce to provide the nutrients growing children need. In FY26, Feeding India worked with architects, engineers, district administrations and local teams to rebuild 45 anganwadis completely.
● Technology Interventions: Feeding India has developed two digital tools to track nutrition delivery and monitor each child’s progress:
○ Counting every child: Facial Recognition Attendance Technology (FRAT) captures daily attendance and aligns the number of meals served with the number of children present. This helps reduce food wastage, so that more of the food prepared reaches the children it is meant for.
○ Meal feedback: A dedicated app connects meal vendors, schools and Feeding India teams to monitor deliveries, share feedback and resolve issues. The report highlights how feedback gathered through the app shows that Idli Sambar, Rajma Rice, Soya Pulao and Black Chana Chaat are the children’s favourites.
● Emergency Relief: Over the years, Feeding India has responded to floods in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand. In FY26, emergency relief kits were distributed to families in Punjab (5,750 kits) and Himachal Pradesh (550 kits). Each kit is designed to support a family of four for 14 days. Each kit contains dry rations including rice, wheat, arhar dal, masoor dal and mustard oil; safety supplies such as mosquito repellent, nylon rope and matchboxes; and hygiene and sanitation items including tissue rolls, ORS, sanitary pads, disposable bags and hand towels.
Community Mobilisation
The report also highlights the role of the community, which brings together children, schools, volunteers, partners and supporters to create moments of joy, connection and participation. Notable interventions are such as a Wanderland art contest and Children’s Day. At the contest, over 200 young artists from partner schools across Delhi NCR created artwork using art supplies. On Children’s Day, over 1 lakh children across 500+ schools in 150+ cities received toys from various brands.
Impact Stories
The report features stories of children supported through daily nutritious meals, including Muskan Verma, a boxer and Muay Thai athlete, and Shamsher Singh, a member of a youth football club in Jalandhar.
Ajit Singh, Head of Feeding India, By Eternal Foundation said, “Feeding India is powered by millions of Indians who share one bold vision: a malnutrition-free India. Their support is behind every meal we serve, and behind this year’s work, including the anganwadis we rebuilt. What matters most is what this means for a child: the energy to learn, the strength to play and the chance to grow into all they are capable of. As we scale our operations, we are committed to doing even more, and we will keep working with our partners, supporters and communities to reach more children.”
